- The lease ledger and the tenant balanceEvery lease has a ledger of charges, payments and credits. The balance is what the tenant owes. How to read it and where to find it.
- How monthly rent charges are generatedEasyHaus charges rent and the service charge every month for each running lease, prorates the first and last month by days, and never charges twice.
- Record a rent paymentWhen a tenant pays you, record the amount, the date, the method and the bank reference. EasyHaus applies it to the oldest charges first.
- Add a one-off chargeCharge a tenant for something other than the monthly rent: a deposit, a late fee, a utility bill, a repair or an operating-cost balance.
- Void a charge or paymentEntries are never edited or deleted. A wrong charge or payment is voided with a reason, stays visible as voided and no longer counts.
- The rent rollOne row per lease for a month: property, unit, tenant, rent, service charge, what was charged, what was paid and the balance, with totals per currency.
- Arrears and agingWhich tenants owe money, since when, and how overdue: the arrears list with its 0 to 30, 31 to 60, 61 to 90 and over 90 day buckets.
- Why EasyHaus never collects rentRent, deposits and payments are recorded in EasyHaus, never processed. Tenants pay you directly, and your money stays in your bank account.
