Rent and payments

Void a charge or payment

Entries are never edited or deleted. A wrong charge or payment is voided with a reason, stays visible as voided and no longer counts.

  • For managers

Who can do this: Owners, admins and managers

Void an entry

  1. Open the lease and find the entry on its ledger.
  2. Choose Void.
  3. Enter the reason, for example Recorded on the wrong lease or Rent corrected after the lease was amended.
  4. Confirm. If the entry was wrong rather than unwanted, record the correct one.

What happens

  • The entry stays on the ledger, marked as voided, with the reason, who voided it and when.
  • It no longer counts in the balance, the rent roll, arrears or reports.
  • The void is recorded in the audit log.
  • A voided entry cannot be restored. Record it again if you voided it by mistake.

Important: A voided automatic rent or service charge is created again the next time its month is generated. See How monthly rent charges are generated.
