Open the arrears list

Open Rent and its arrears view, or Reports and then Arrears. The dashboard shows the total arrears per currency.

What it shows

Arrears columns
ColumnMeaning
Lease, tenant and unitEvery lease with a balance above zero.
BalanceWhat the tenant owes on the lease.
Oldest unpaid chargeThe due date of the oldest charge that is not yet covered by payments.
Days overdueDays since that due date.
Bucket0 to 30, 31 to 60, 61 to 90 or more than 90 days.

Totals are given per currency.

How the oldest unpaid charge is found

Payments and credits are applied to charges in date order, oldest first. The first charge that is not fully covered is the oldest unpaid charge. A tenant who pays every month but always 100 short is therefore overdue from the first month they paid short, not from this month.

Tip: Work the list from the oldest bucket down. Contact tenants in the 0 to 30 bucket early, when a reminder is usually enough.

What EasyHaus does not do

EasyHaus does not send reminders or dunning letters to tenants, and it does not charge late fees on its own. Contact the tenant yourself and, if your contract allows, add a late fee. See Add a one-off charge.
