Units

Add units to a property

Create units from the Units page or from a property's Units tab, with a label, a kind, the floor, the area, rooms and the market rent.

  • For managers

Who can do this: Owners, admins and managers

Add a unit

  1. Open the property and its Units tab, or open Units in the Portfolio section of the navigation.
  2. Choose Add unit. On the Units page, choose the property first.
  3. Enter a label, such as Apt 3B, Shop 1 or P12, and choose the kind.
  4. Add the details you know: floor, area in m², rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms and the market rent.
  5. Save. The unit appears as vacant until a lease covers it.

Note: A label must be unique within its property, whatever the capitalisation. Two properties can each have an Apt 1.

The details

Unit details
FieldMeaning
LabelRequired. The name you and your tenants use for the unit.
KindApartment, house, room, office, retail, warehouse, parking, storage or other. See Units.
FloorFree text, so EG, 2, Mezzanine and -1 all work.
AreaIn square metres, with up to two decimals.
RoomsWith one decimal, so a German 2.5-room flat is entered as 2.5.
Bedrooms and bathroomsBathrooms accept halves, such as 1.5.
Market rentThe monthly rent you ask or aim for. It is a reference only. The rent a tenant pays is set on the lease.
UnavailableTurn on while the unit cannot be let, for example during a renovation or while it is in your own use.
NotesAnything your team should know, such as the meter numbers or key locations.

Tip: Fill in the market rent for every unit. Comparing it with the rent on the lease shows which units are let below market.
