Password and two-step verification

Set a password if you want one, and add a code from an authenticator app for extra protection.

Password

A password is optional. Without one you sign in with links sent to your email. To set one, open Profile, then Security.

  • Use at least 10 characters.
  • Setting or changing your password signs you out of your other sessions.
  • Setting it for the first time needs no current password. Changing it does.

Two-step verification

  1. Open Profile, then Security, and choose Turn on.
  2. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app.
  3. Enter the 6-digit code the app shows and confirm.
  4. Save your recovery codes.

To turn it off later you need a password. Set one first if you do not have it.

Tip: The most useful protection is a unique password, or only email links, together with two-step verification.
